Blush
The romantic flush of glowing cheeks, a healthy blush - that is what we look for. We want to look natural - not like a clown. Finding the right color is not easy. How much shimmer? Cream or Powder or Gel?

I prefer a powder blush and that seems like the consensus with most people. Unless you have a perfect complexion and do not wear foundations or powders, a gel will probably not work well for you. But if you do like gel blushes, Clinique Gel Blush is a very good choice. For some people with dry skin, a gel or creamy blush will be a good choice. The overall best cream blush is Estee Lauder Signature Satin Cream.

The Mid-Range priced powder blushes will meet most everyone's needs. Some of the best are:

Nars - Orgasm is a very popular color (probably because of its name) but it is definitely best for fair skin. Try other colors for olive or darker skin. Some may think it is too sparkly but most seem to like a little shimmer. Nars even has a more shimmery version now called Super Orgasm which is perfect for a more glamorous evening look. See the Glam page for more special evening recommendations.

Cargo also seems to be a popular mid-priced blush but I have not tried it. If a lot of people seem to like it in our Blog, I will give it a try.

Guerlain Blush Eclat Divinora is very flexible. A light touch gives a very natural barely-there color and it takes a lot of work to get too much pigment with this one. But with continued work with the brush, the perfect pigment can be achieved. This blush is slightly more expensive than the other mid-priced blushes.

Many people swear by the more expensive department store blushes but I personally don't think they are worth the extra price.

Two of the best higher priced blushes are Yves Saint Laurent Variation 11 and Yves Saint Laurent Touché Blush. Another very good high-priced blush is Dior Diorshow Powder.

If you can't bring yourself to spend over $20 for a blush, the best drugstore versions are Jane and Milani.
