Best Conditioners for Treating and Protecting Your Hair
Conditioners restore moisture after shampooing, repair damage from hair dryers and irons, and make hair easier to comb. Many conditioners contain proteins or a similar product to strengthen hair. Some contain thermal protectors to safeguard against the heat of hair dryers, hot irons and curlers.

There are many types of conditioners. You should use a moisturizing conditioner if your hair tends to get dry and frizzy. Use a volumizing conditioner if you need more body and your hair is fine. If your hair is particularly dry or damaged you should use a separate deep moisturizing conditioner to use once a week.

Some say you should change the conditioner you use every month, since hair can become immune to a specific conditioner's effects, and buildup can occur. I'm not sure I agree with this if you use a good shampoo that thoroughly removes buildup from products.

Good conditioners that I have used and like are listed below:

Pureology Antifade Complex Hydrate Conditioner is a luxurious conditioner for color-treated hair that preserves the color and replaces the moisture from color treating.

Loreal Professional Liss Extreme Smoothing Hair Crème is recommended by stylists and is moisturizing and nourishing for color-treated or dry, damaged hair.

Infusion 23 Leave In Conditioner is a good conditioner and gets generally good reviews. I used it for years before I started coloring my hair. I had better results from the first two conditioners. They smell better and leave my hair soft without weighing it down. With this conditioner my hair was soft but not as bouncy.

Pantene Pro-V Conditioner for Dry, Damaged Hair is definitely the best drugstore conditioner. It works well for dry, damaged hair.

Thermasilk Heat-activated Conditioner is a very good, reasonably priced conditioner. I prefer Pantene but Thermasilk also produces great results for the price.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair is a great conditioner for coarse, dry hair but it seems to weigh down my fine, thin hair.

Let me know if you have any other favorite conditioners in the Blog post about Favorites. I will be happy to give them a try and review them here.
